Whether it's a car in the background of Braveheart or the inconsistent cliff in Jurassic Park, movies tend to have mistakes. Why don't we notice them more often?

I really hope that she wore that shirt for this episode because of the scene with the two raptors where you can see the prop guy moving a raptors tail.

I was sure her mic was going to move...damn.

Unfortunately I can't recall a source for this, but I remember from my health class that younger children reported seeing the gorilla much more often than adults, suggesting that the focusing was actually learned behavior

I saw a test like that once. I saw 2 people in the background with animal masks on and thought they were a distraction and tried my best to ignore them :/

For April Fools on of my friend whore a guerilla suit to class. We were sitting in the front row like usual but the professor didn't notice unit half way through the class.

So why didn't you define these phenomena?

Errors like the ones you mentioned also happen, and go unnoticed, in animated movies. Several of the shots in which Anna is trekking to find Elsa in Frozen show her heading towards steep, impassible mountain peaks or changing altitude far too rapidly. These make no logical sense, but few viewers seem to notice at all, let alone mind.

I do notice these things, and sometimes it makes it hard to enjoy the movie even if it's really not that big of a deal.

This was the basis of a project I did for a college psych class. I was supposed to make a fake ad. Some scenes were shot in a room with dusty rose walls and other scenes were shot in an identical room with canary yellow walls. Surprisingly few of my classmates noticed that the background had suddenly changed since it was irrelevant and so subtle.

Also, another example from a movie. In "The Band Wagon," there is apparently a scene where a stagehand can be seen walking across the set during a musical number. I totally missed it until it was pointed out in a documentary.

1:14 I did not only notice the gorilla but also how the colour of the background changed. I don't know how people can not notice that but hey, the brain is weird.

During the video I was hoping for a forced error. But I didn't see one.
I once played a trick on my friends, through ought the hour or two, I would change clothes. First it was shirts tha were close to the same color, then color to one that had a close color but a pattern. They didn't notice until I came out in a neon colored shirt after I wanted to see if they would catch it.
